Forbes ranked the 82-year-old Bloomberg LP founder in 12th place with an estimated $106 billion fortune as of March 8. Based on Forbes' wealth estimate, Bloomberg would be in joint 12th position with Michael Dell (also $106 billion) as of Thursday. In a country roiled by recession worries, those at the top of New York City — for better or worse — couldn't give a single gilded shit. For New York City, a brush with death called for a time of decadence. AG Letitia James plans to go after Trump's cash and property if he doesn't pay his civil fraud debt. Is the ball in Letitia James' court? "The burden is on Letitia James to find Trump's assets" and decide what she wants garnished or auctioned, he said. D'Orazio predicts James would first target the cash that Trump and the Trump Organization keep in New York-registered bank accounts. He would then remit $95 million to the Attorney General's Office, and that would go toward paying Trump's judgment.

In part, that was because it was just impossible to trace Irish famine immigrants and find out what had happened to them. This is just inconceivable to anyone who had ever thought about the famine Irish given the obstacles that faced them. Biden is one of four US presidents who descended from Irish famine immigrants. The famine immigrants really were the ones who cemented the idea of the American Dream as we understand it today. At the time, the neighborhood was home to the more Irish immigrants than any other part of the city.

Creditors want to force Rudy Giuliani to sell his $3.5 million Florida condo to help pay his significant debts, according to a court document filed on Friday. For example, Giuliani spends tens of thousands of dollars a month to maintain his Florida condo. However, the document said, Giuliani spends "approximately 20-30% of his time in Florida" and therefore creditors claimed the $3.5 million condo must be sold. "It is merely a matter of when, not if, the Debtor will have to sell the Florida Condo in order to distribute the proceeds thereof to creditors," the filing said. For more mature companies such as McDonald's , it means accelerating new restaurant growth in areas where it's now underrepresented. It isn't just restaurants looking to the Sun Belt for sales growth. In addition to well-known chains, Greider has also seen restaurants with chef-driven name recognition traveling south from New York and Chicago. This year, I had the confidence to counteroffer when I received my lease renewal, which stated a roughly $52 monthly rent increase. I live in New York City's Manhattan borough, which is one of the most expensive areas in the U.S. to rent an apartment. The first call to my management company in early December almost deterred me. Finally, I sent an email to a general inbox with my management company asking to go straight to the source: my landlord. After quickly crunching the numbers, I realized the total cost of my rent increase over the year would be just over $600 for a 1-year lease.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s bipartisan redistricting commission approved a new congressional map Thursday that makes modest changes to three competitive districts but does not substantially change the rest of the state's lines. New York's congressional redistricting process has been closely watched this year as suburban races in the state could have outsize influence on which party controls the House after the November elections. The redistricting commission was tasked with coming up with new districts after the state's highest court in December threw out the map used in the 2022 elections. The panel's new map plan leaves the most of the current congressional districts largely in place, a move that could help head off legal challenges against the proposal. The Independent Redistricting Commission was created under a constitutional amendment approved by voters in 2014.
